At Mission 98, we love to have students join our prayer walks. At a recent walk, we met Elyse. Elyse asked lots of good questions during our walk, and so we asked her to share about the experience of praying for people she didn’t know in a local apartment community. Here’s more from Elyse.

I had never been on a prayer walk before.
I didn’t know fully what to expect, but my leader explained it more and showed me a sheet of simple prompts to think about. As we started walking, my leader prayed quietly out loud while I prayed silently. I didn’t feel confident enough to pray out loud yet. Maybe I’ll try that next time. I think to passersby we may have seemed like we were just talking.
It’s interesting to think about how we were praying for people, and they didn’t even know it.
It feels fulfilling because you’re not being paid or anything for it, you just choose to do it because you care. I really think it was a great experience.
